Happiness be yours

Today is the 13th of December, Lucia Day.
Me and my fiancee have been together for 9 years today,
so he actually surpriced me with roses and a gift (Gilmore Girls on DVD).
Its not often he does stuff like this, so it was very nice. :)

So today I ditched the school work I really should have been doing,
and made this wall hangable card for my sister.
The images are a bit poor, put it could have been worse I think.
At least the colors are all right. ;)

I used papers from Maja Design,
a heart shaped doily, and I inked the edges of the papers
with Distress Ink, Walnut Stain.

I colored Tilda with Distress Ink. Her clothes are a mixture
of Victorian Velvet and Walnut Stain.
For skin I use Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo and Aged Mahonagny,
and for the rest I used Pumice Stone and Black Soot.
I shaded with Wethered Wood and Black Soot.
The fur edges on her clothes are lined with Martha Stewart Flocking.

The Wings I got at Panduro. I originally was not planning this,
but I strumpled across them as I was searching for fitting
embellishments, and I just had to use them.
Maybe a bit much, but whatever. ;)

The flowers I used are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I made some of the flowers smaller by removing a layer of them,
and I put some Snow Wrighter on them.
I love the sparkely snowflake, I dont know if you can tell,
but its made entirely out of rhinestones. It is from Ribbon Girl.

The Lace and mesh is also from Ribbon Girl.

I used Martha Stewart Snowflakes that I punched out,
and a Doohickey tag, some twine, pins and seem binding ribbon from WOC,
and a big heart charm from Ribbon Girl.

The sentiment is from Magnolia, and I added some little pearls.
I also used Snow Wrighter on the corners in the card,
and I used Chalkboard Glimmer Mist all over. You can rell if you look for it. ;)

Christmas Gifts

Hello all my sweet friends and visitors!
I have again neglected my blog, I have been preoccupied with school,
the stomach flu, school and school.
I have also been making a few Christmas gifts,
theese are what I wanted to show you quickly today.
I have an exam tomorrow, so I have to dive back into my
books right now. Being sick really made me fall behind on my schedule.
These are kleenex-covers that I am giving away for Christmas.
Both are made with Pion papers,
I used peals, Martha Stewart butterfly puncher,
and dies. I also used Star Dust Stickles. Very simple embellishments,
the papers are so lovely in themselfes and I didnt want people to think
they where unhygienic with to much flowers etc.

I hope you all are having a lovely December. :)

Baby's firsh Christmas *New sketch at CLP*

Today is the first day of November. Can anyone please but a few more
weeks in between now and Christmas? I have so much schoolwork to do,
and just no desire, ideas or inspiration that helps me to do it.
Feel a bit like I'm drowning under the pressure.

Oh well, enough complaining.
This is my take on this months gorgeous sketch at CLP Challenges!
I used papers from Inkido, they are so lovely for Christmas.

And this is what the sketch looks like. :)
Hope you'll pop by to join us, as this is the last sketch of 2012!

This is the first time I use this adorable image, it was given
to me by my dear sweet Elaine. Thank youu!

I colored him/her with Distress Reinkers,
and used Star Dust Stickles on the fur,
and Liquid Pearl around him.

I colored the seem binding ribbon myself, I wanted more
of the dark red in the details.
I used Aged Mahogany, a little drop of Vintage Photo and a drop
of Fired Brick, plus Chalkboard Glimmer Mist.
The heart charm, the mesh and the velvet ribbon are
from Ribbon Girl.

The flowers I have used are mainly from WOC,
and the bling strips are from Storyteller.

These little flowers are from Kutt Ut,
and I think that last flower is from Papirloftet.
I also used a bit of cheese cloth, but I don't like this one,
it is way to fine.

I used a sentiment that says Merry Christmas in Norwegian,
I think it is from Papirloftet.

Hope you all will have a wonderful November!

Sparkling Winter Tilda

Yeeey, I have a Magnolia card to show you,
and I tell you, it was a lot of fun to make!

I used two papers from Poppydesign.
I chose them because they matched the image so well,
but I struggled really hard to find other things to match it.

Tilda was colored with Distress Reinkers.
I smudged some Gesso over it to make if look a bit older
and lighter. I also used Star Dust stickles on her, on all the dies,
and on the flowers.

I used three dies from Magnolia. A star, leaves and a swirl.
I used some seem binding ribbon, and angel charm, and the two
brads are from Making Memories.

I used a ribbon from WOK, a ribbon, mesh and pearls from Ribbon Girl.

The pearl detail on the bow is also from Ribbon Girl.
Gosh, I love those "bases" for the pearls etc.

I struggled a lot to find the right flowers. Suddenly I founds some
gorgeous Prima roses that I think I got in my calendar last year.
They haven't matched anything I have made before, but now they
where just the right colors. They where just too big.
So except for one, I took off a few layers of the flowers to make them smaller.
I also used tulips and roses from WOC.

This is the backside of the card. I made it a single page card,
because I didn't have enough paper to make it a fold card.
I used two of these new larger heart doilies I just got.

I realize now that I forgot to use a sentiment,
so strictly this does not have to be a Christmas card, but that
is what I was thinking when I made it. The angel makes it Christmas,
I think. ;)

Another show of the snow. THIS looks like Christmas,
with snow lying on the trees. I took this picture yesterday,
I actually went skiing! Gosh its hard, but good exercise.
Think I'll go skiing today to, the weather is lovely!

Got the sniffles?

I made another Kleenex cover, and I have several more to make.
Yesterday I even started to ink up a few images,
and I'll try to make some cards today.
Hopefully the drought is over. :)

Sorry about the messy images! I don't have a good place to
take pictures of larger creations. Guess I should buy that photo tent I'we
been wanting for a while now, because soon it wont be much daylight here at all.

The paper I have used is from Pion. Love the color of it!
This box is intended for my uncle, so I tried to make it not so feminin.

This time I used some flowers. The colors I chose was inspired
by another one of the papers in this series.

The bottle is from Panduro, and inside it is a piece of the same paper
that is on the box. The flowers are from WOC.

The berries are from Storyteller, I think.

The lace was a gift, and the button is vintage.

I got a few questions about how I made the last box.
This is how I cut the paper, I even added the strip at the bottom that
I don't use. So I only have to use one sheet of bazzil, and possibly one
sheet of design paper, that depends on the pattern on the paper.

This is how it looks from the bottom. There is no bottom,
so its just a hollow cover that I put on the box. That makes it easy to change the
kleenex box, but it is still quite solid and easy to grab. I know that,
because I've had a box like this in my living room for more than a year. :)

A bit of a follow up on the snow picture.
The weather have been so terrible, it has been almost stormy for days.
Rain and snow and hail and sleet.
Yesterday it cleared up for a while, so Sofie and I snuck out and made a snowman.
I haven't done that in so many  years, but I think he turned out quite handsome. ;)

Christmas Kleenex

To all my followers, I just want to say I am so sorry!
I have been a terrible blogger lately.
I have just been going through this scrap-drought,
and in between school, a bit of work, and working out,
I just didn't have the time or energy to scrap or blog.
I just didn't want to either.

Yesterday I finally got this wave over me,
and I made this Kleenex cover with  my daughter hanging over me.
We had a real nice time together.

I have decided to make a few of these to give away this Christmas,
so I really hope the drought is over.

Winter suddenly came, so the lighting was bad.
In order to get a close to normal shot, I had to put my box in the window.
I used Christmas papers from Inkido, I just love them!

The ribbon that goes around the box I believe was a gift from some
sort of swap. The seem binding ribbon is from WOC.
I used my Martha Stewart Snowflake punch, and covered the snowflakes
with Icicle Stickles, and a bling from Ribbon Girl in the center.

I have to say, I love this piece of bling that I got from Ribbon Girl!
They have so much nice stuff!

And at last I want to show you quickly what we woke up to today.
We had maybe an inch of snow yesterday, and it came down hard
all night (its still snowing like crazy!).
I hope you will forgive me for being such a crappy blog friend,
and I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

Pink for a Baptism

Today it is the first of October.
That means that it is time for a new sketch at CLP Challenges!
This is my take on the sketch.
It is a card for a baptism, they wanted it to be like my
standard cards with lots of details and girlie bits.

This is how the sketch look like,
so pop over to join us!

I think this image is from Mo Manning?
She is just so adorable. :)
I colored her with Distress Reinkers.
I used Vintage Photo and Antique Linen for her hair,
Tattered rose, Vintage Photo and Victorian Velvet for her skin.
Victorian Velvet for her clothes,
Victorian Velvet and Wethered Wood for her wings
(and Star Dust Stickles),
and Wethered Wood for shading.
I used some Liquid Pearl to make a little dust around her.

I used some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, and
a pearl-center from Ribbon Girl.

The ribbon and mesh are from Ribbon Girl.

<

I used letters from Prima and My Little Shoebox.
The lace is from Ribbon Girl. I also used some pompoms, cheese cloth,
Prima Bling and a charm.
The papers are from Maja Design and Inkido.

This week I am at school,
so I`m sorry to say I cant visit your blogs until the weekend,
but I am looking forward to a great round of visits then. :)
Hope you are all having a lovely week!
Thank you for coming to see me. :)

Four simple cards

This last days I haven't been very creative.
Work and school and mum and working out,
boy the days go bye so fast.

I want to show you some more simple cards I have made lately.
I am still fighting the urge to over-embellish,
but I am finally getting some use out of a lot of great left over paper.

The paper is from Poppy design, I love it!
I made like a little doily or something, I had to stop myself at the end,
it was getting very tall. :p

This adorable paper is so fun, but I struggled a bit more with this card.
The sentiment is a sticker. I embellished with Prima flowers and swirl,
and a flower ribbon. I used a lot of Candy Cane Stickles.

Here I used Magnolia Paper. Just love this one.
The bird I have been holding on to for a while.
I finally used it now, and debated with myself for a long time about
what to do. I ended up covering it with swirls, pearls and Stickles.

And finally a birthday card. I was really not inspired when I  made this,
but I had the image lying ready to go, and I needed a card for a man,
so I whippet this up.

Thank you all for bothering to visit me,
I really appreciate it!
Hope you are having a wonderful fall.
Here it has been raining a lot,
but today seems like a good day,
so hopefully I'll have the time to sneak out.

Christmas Matches

I made this a while ago, just haven't showed it yet.
It is a box with matches inside,
decorated for Christmas.

The papers are last years Christmas collection from Pion.
I layered with a book page, cheese cloth and a doily.

The image is from Pion too, I think.
The "knobs" are from Tim Holtz.

I embellished with Berries from Panduro,
Tim Holtz pearls, die cuts, a snowflake charm,
some roses from Storyteller, pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts,
and a swirly-thingie from Kort og Godt.
I used some gold Stickles on the roses.
